Filipe Felizardo The Purist

Filipe Felizardo is a philosophy student, artist and musician from Lisbon, with an informal education in film, comics, and musical pedagogy. They founded Antumbra Publishing House, dedicated to photography and portuguese translations of neo-rationalist thought. Their current research in Critical Philosophy at the New Centre for Research & Practice focuses on systematic reconceptions of learning and alienation, as understood from the workspaces of inferentialism and linear logic, Ilyenkov's philosophy of pedagogy and activity, and Negarestani's inhumanism. Felizardo is also working on a comics adaptation of Peter Wolfendale's “Essay on Transcendental Realism” and translations of Wilfrid Sellars and Rob Lucas. THE PURIST is the first in a series of four-page comics dedicated to philosophical themes. It works out an opposition between Agambenite atavistic ontologies and the good old Parmenidean 'thinking is being', under the stylistic constraints of Virgil Finlay or Moebius sci-fi pen-and-ink illustration schools. Future issues will tackle modal logic, xenofeminism, and many more rarely worked on themes in the comics medium.
