Thibault Tourmente collects images that he cuts out of recovered books. This research is not so much methodical as compulsive. The artist will then arrange them on boards which follow one another like a flow of new images, fragmented by the multitude which composes them. Decontextualized from their original support and arranged randomly, their profusion offers the possibility of a subjective interpretation, both through memory and through the sensitivity of each individual. Despite the hazardous nature of the artist's approach, the constancy of the format and the chromatic rigor generate a gesture close to the automatism of a mechanical system.
