« Why are you travelling?
To find those who still know how to live in peace. »
When I read this sentence by Ella Maillart, a great traveller and writer
I understood why my meeting with the Jarawas changed my life.
Witnessing their solidarity, their love for eachother,
Their respect for nature are lessons for all of us.
Their world is a snapshot of where we all came from.
Free and happy.
The Jarawa People lives in the Andaman Islands, India.
They came from Africa 50 000 years ago.
Today they are victimes of ethnocide and forced assimilation.
They are only 400 of them left.
This book « JARAWAS » is a tribute to their grace.
