Anthony1 Bobbacore Revisited

It's strange to look back at the first months of the pandemic and realize that, for a while, raves migrated from the woods to Twitch, from basements to Discord channels. People all over the world were dancing alone, in front of a webcam. In these changes, there were new labels coming up, like Dismiss Yourself, adventurers of new frontiers of underground music, like HexD, Freeform Hardcore, Trancecore, among others. If Dismiss Yourself is one of the key labels to understand new electronic music, it is fair to say that Anthony1 is one of its central artists and his album "???" one of the best places to start digging. A lo-fi epic compressed to the maximum, the violent beats and cutting melodies threatening mutiny. All this seasoned with a nostalgic anime meets video game meets deep internet visual imagery. For CCA, the young Chilean producer returns to this universe, after a few more conventional tangents into other genres. Abstract, with a compression so powerful that the sound is as close to the euphoria of dance music as to the vertigo of harsh noise, Bobbacore Revisited dilutes the reference points of hard trance - the hallucinated melodies, the fast and aggressive beats, the ethereal ambience - until they become a mere mirage, like the memory of an open-air rave somewhere in a simpler time. You're in for a ride.
