POSTAL WITH BANDCAMP DOWNLOAD CODE Since 2017, the population of Covas do Barroso has been fighting against the open-pit lithium mine project in their mountains — potentially the largest in Europe. Águas Barrosãs is the first edition of Tundra, born from the residency we held at Sachola during the 2023 camp in defense of Barroso. The sounds come from an instrument we built and played together, drawing strength from the communal lands and waters of Covas. We listened and blew back against the greedy exploitation that seeks to destroy them. This album is available both digitally and physically: a postcard with a download code that you can share by mail. Proceeds from these editions go directly to the struggle in Covas. We’ve set a friendly price to encourage sharing and attentive listening to the anti-mining resistance in Barroso. If you can, give more. Your contributions make a difference.
