"Portugal Year Zero – Photography Books of the Revolution" is the result of a research, curation, and publishing project that recovers and revisits books featuring images by Portuguese and foreign photographers who, between the late 1970s and early 1980s, documented the various moments of the Portuguese Revolution and the profound social, political, and cultural transformations that unfolded. Edited by Susana Lourenço Marques, José Luis Neves, and Luís Pinto Nunes, and featuring texts by the editors and by Emília Tavares and Ivo Braz, the book extends the exhibition of the same name presented at the Centro de Arte Oliva in 2024, embodying a critical and plural reflection on the circulation of images and their inscription in contemporary history in Portugal.
